Why Does God Hate Abortion?

Darkness can only be destroyed by light. That’s what the Word of God does — it brings us out of the kingdom of darkness, a realm rooted in ignorance, and into the kingdom of light.

You could hold a PhD in every worldly subject, but without the knowledge of God, you remain in darkness. Education in human wisdom alone does not dispel spiritual darkness. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Proverbs 1:7) Without this foundation, even the most “educated” person may fail to understand why abortion is wrong. A dentist who continually eats candy or a doctor who smokes might be experts in their fields, yet still held captive by harmful habits. In the same way, someone can be profoundly knowledgeable in secular matters but still blind to spiritual truth.

Ever Learning, Never Finding the Truth

This is exactly what scripture refers to: “Ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of truth.” (2 Timothy 3:7). Some people are outstandingly educated in every other domain but lack common spiritual sense. The world’s education system is designed to keep people under the influence of the kingdom of darkness. People who are educated in darkness may even feel a deep, internal conviction about the wrong they’re doing, yet they’re unable to break free. This is the enemy’s deception.

The Manufacturer’s Design and Abortion’s Interference

To truly understand a product, we need to look to its manufacturer. God is the Manufacturer of life, and every human being is His creation, crafted with a purpose. When we take matters into our own hands and decide to terminate life, we disregard the Creator’s design and intent.

Imagine buying a complex piece of technology, ignoring the instruction manual, and deciding to use it in whatever way you see fit. What would happen? Inevitably, you’d misuse it, break it, or fail to use it to its fullest potential. In the same way, when we ignore God’s instructions on life — on when, how, and why life should begin — we misuse His creation and cause harm. Abortion is a misuse of the Creator’s design for humanity.

God’s intent for humanity was to “be fruitful and multiply,” to fill the earth with His image and establish His kingdom culture. When we abort a child, we’re interrupting this divine purpose, stepping outside the manufacturer’s specifications, and ultimately abusing the gift of life.

Defining Abortion: Shifting Words and Shifting Morals

What is abortion? According to the modern Oxford dictionary, it’s “the expulsion of the fetus before it is viable.” But historically, in the 18th and 19th centuries, abortion was defined as “the criminal act of premeditated and intentional termination of pregnancy by any artificial means.” Isn’t it interesting how the language has softened over time? The word “abortion” is a noun — a person, place, or thing. Language has been manipulated to make the act seem less offensive and disgusting. But make no mistake, abortion is the intentional destruction of an innocent life.

When someone is deeply educated in secular knowledge but lacks the knowledge of God, they may see nothing wrong with abortion. They might call it a “medical procedure” or a “choice.” But when you have the light of God, you see it for what it truly is: the termination of an innocent life.

What Do These Terms Really Mean?

Let’s look at the terms people use to justify this act:

  • Fetus: A human being in the womb from about 8 weeks after conception until birth, developing organs and features necessary for life.

  • Baby: A human outside the womb, from birth until about one year of age.

  • Viability: The point at which a child can survive outside the womb, with or without medical support.

Notice how people play games with these words to distance themselves from the reality of what’s happening. Before “fetus,” we have other stages: zygote, blastocyst, embryo. Each is a step in the process of human life, not a separate or lesser form of being. But without God’s light, many people deny that these stages represent a living person. This is darkness, plain and simple.

Addressing Common Arguments

One common question involves pregnancies resulting from rape. While this is a tragic and sensitive topic, the statistics provide important context. According to a study in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology (1996), only about 3–5% of rapes lead to pregnancy. The CDC estimates roughly 32,000 pregnancies in the U.S. each year are due to rape. In a population of over 334 million people, that means approximately 1 in every 10,437 people experiences a pregnancy resulting from rape each year.

These cases are rare, yet the media often amplifies this narrative to support a pro-abortion agenda. They manipulate public perception by focusing on exceptions rather than the larger reality. God’s Word, however, remains clear: life is sacred, regardless of how it begins. Manipulating language and statistics to justify abortion does not change the spiritual reality. It is still the taking of an innocent life — a life created by the Manufacturer with purpose.

Planned Parenthood and the Agenda of Darkness

Let’s be clear about something: Planned Parenthood and similar organizations do not exist to “empower” or “protect” women. These organizations profit from the destruction of innocent life and are part of a larger system that keeps people under the influence of the kingdom of darkness. Their agenda is not about health; it’s about control, manipulation, and profit. They promote abortion as if it’s a form of “care,” while in reality, they are perpetuating a culture of death and dishonoring the Manufacturer’s intent for life.

Planned Parenthood was not part of God’s original design for humanity. The Creator of life does not condone a system that makes killing the unborn an everyday occurrence. The idea of “planned” parenthood is contrary to God’s command to “be fruitful and multiply.” God has given humanity clear instructions on reproduction, and anything that seeks to interfere with His design is aligned with the kingdom of darkness, not the kingdom of light.

God’s Design for Life

In Genesis, God’s command is clear: “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it…” (Genesis 1:28). This is not a mere suggestion. God blessed humanity with the power to reproduce, to bring His influence to the world through each new generation. Abortion, however, interrupts this divine process and denies a God-given destiny.

God’s design for reproduction is not just biological but spiritual. Every human being reflects His image, and to destroy that image is a direct affront to Him. Now, let’s break down three reasons why God hates abortion:

1. Abortion Interrupts God’s Gift of Reproduction

When you abort a child, you interfere with God’s command to “be fruitful and multiply.” Humanity was created to reproduce, to carry out God’s will on Earth. Abortion goes against this command, making those who support it enemies of God’s kingdom.

2. Abortion Terminates a Destiny

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13) Every life has a purpose before it even begins. Jeremiah was chosen as a prophet before he was born (Jeremiah 1:5). When you abort a child, you’re canceling a destiny — a life God intended to impact the world. When that life is removed, society suffers. You don’t know if that child could have been a doctor, a leader, or someone destined to solve the very problems plaguing our world. Abortion is a direct affront to God’s sovereign plan.

3. Abortion is the Shedding of Innocent Blood

God’s word is unambiguous on this point: “You shall not murder.” (Exodus 20:13) “There are six things the Lord hates… hands that shed innocent blood.” (Proverbs 6:16–17) Abortion is murder — there’s no other way to put it. Taking an innocent life created in the image of God is a violation of His law and an offense to His holiness.

God’s Redemptive Offer

If you’ve had an abortion, know that God’s mercy is available. He can heal and restore you if you’re willing to come to Him in repentance. Repentance isn’t just about saying sorry; it’s a deep realization of the wrong and a desire to change. Like the prodigal son, God welcomes you back with open arms, ready to restore you to your rightful place as His child.

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” This isn’t about condemnation but transformation. Christ came to bring His kingdom, not to establish a religion that shames you. If you’re reading this, it’s because God wants you to be free from guilt and shame. You are not beyond redemption.

If you’re currently considering an abortion, I urge you to stop and think. This pregnancy doesn’t mean the end of your life. Don’t listen to society, friends, or family members who push you toward destruction. Remember, you’re alive today because someone had the courage to choose life for you. Imagine if my mother had aborted me when she considered it — I wouldn’t be here to share this message and to hopefully help you make a life-affirming choice.

Please, consider that God has a plan for that baby, even if you can’t see it right now. The child you’re carrying could be destined to make a difference in this world. If you choose to keep this life, God will bless you, and you may someday see how it was all part of a greater purpose.

If you don’t believe in God, know that I am still speaking to you from a place of love and a desire to see you choose a path that honors life. Maybe you have faith in humanity, even if you’re uncertain about faith in God. But either way, I’m asking you to consider the possibility that this life is sacred and meant to be. You’re here today because someone chose to believe in you and brought you into the world, no matter how difficult the circumstances were. You can make the same courageous choice.

For everyone else who has been supporting abortion, I understand where you’re coming from. I was once in your shoes. Society, education, and media make it easy to see abortion as a simple “choice” without acknowledging its spiritual implications. But now that you’ve read the truth, what are you going to do with it? God is calling you to a higher standard, to live in alignment with His light rather than conforming to the darkness of this world.

Please consider choosing life over death. Stand with the kingdom of light. God’s love and forgiveness are available for you, no matter where you’ve been or what choices you’ve made. His truth brings freedom, and His mercy brings healing.

May God bless you and guide you as you consider His word and choose life.

Amen!
